General Shop Q's

Where are you located?

We're based in Victoria, BC. 

Is your shop still located in Fan Tan Alley?

Our brick and mortar shop closed in April 2020 and we launched our online shop a month later! We now operate solely online out of a studio in Rock Bay, five minutes away from our old shop in Chinatown.

Do you offer local pick up?

Yes, definitely! If you're local to Victoria and want to pick up your order instead of having it shipped to you, you can choose "pick up" under the delivery method options.

What are your pick up hours?

Right now we're offering pick up from 12-4pm, Monday to Wednesday. However, we're super flexible and if those times or days don't work for you, please let us know and we'll sort something else out!

Is my physical gift card from the shop transferrable to the online store?

Yes! Send us an email with your name and a photo of your gift certificate, and we'll email you a gift certificate link that can be used on the online store.

What carrier do you ship with?

We use Canada Post for all shipped orders.

Do you ship world wide?

We do, however our online store is only set up for North American shipping! If you'd like to place an order and you live outside of North America, send us an email and we'll put together an order for you :)

I live outside of Victoria, but accidentally chose local pick up! What now?

Not to worry! Get in touch with us and we'll send you a shipping invoice.

I placed an order but haven't received an order confirmation or shipping/pick up details.

Have you checked your junk mail? Our order confirmations are notorious for landing there! If you still can't find it, let us know and we'll confirm your order for you!

Where do you find the brands you work with?

Most of the brands and makers we work with we've met through social media, but sometimes we get approached by a brand we've never heard of and fall in love with their stuff!

What kind of brands/goods do you look for?

We love sourcing unique pieces, and tend to work with small, independent brands. Our own brand is very eclectic and colourful, so we definitely look for that when sourcing new products for the shop as well!

How do I apply to work with LA?

The best place to reach out to us regarding consigning or wholesaling your goods is email! Send some photos, a bit about yourself and your brand, and an updated linesheet. Please note, while we try our very best, we aren't able to get back to everyone!

Misc Q's

How do you work to be sustainable?

Our sustainability efforts are a constant work in progress. A majority of our boxes are collected from our own personal orders or wholesale orders we receive, and we only use new boxes if we don't have the right size for your order! Same goes for packing paper and bubble wrap: it's all reused and recycled. Our mailers are compostable and biodegradable, and are designed to be used again and again, and our biodegradable packing peanuts are made from starch and dissolve in warm water. We've also recently switched to using a thermal label printer for all of our shipping labels, which greatly reduces the amount of tape we use! Any suggestions for how we can improve? We'd love to hear from you!

How can I find out when I product is being restocked?

You can sign up for a restock notification! Head to the product listing and click the "notify when available" button on the side of the screen. You can then enter your email or your phone number, and you'll receive a notification when it's been restocked :)
